We are seeking a highly skilled and security‐cleared Azure Cloud Engineer with strong Database Administration (DBA) capabilities to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‐on experience managing and migrating databases to Azure SQL PaaS, and proficiency in a range of database technologies including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB and Oracle. This role also includes broader cloud engineering responsibilities, supporting secure, scalable, and high‐performance cloud infrastructure for government and enterprise clients.

• Lead and execute end‐to‐end database migration projects to Azure SQL PaaS.
• Administer and optimise databases.
• Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, availability, and reliability.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Government security standards and policies.
• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with cross‐functional teams to ensure cloud best practices.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement cloud security controls, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
• Participate in cost optimisation and resource governance initiatives.
• Assist in planning and executing cloud migration strategies.
• Participate in discovery, assessment, and cutover activities.
• Ensure compliance with security and architecture standards.

• Proven experience with Azure Cloud Services, especially Azure SQL Database (PaaS).
• Experience with Azure Data Migration Service and other migration tools.
• Proficiency in PowerShell for automation and scripting.
• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in Azure.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in a range of database technologies including MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, MariaDB and Oracle.
• Understanding of IAM, networking, and cloud security.

• Familiarity with government cloud environments and compliance frameworks
