The Role
We're looking for an entry‑level Media Operator to join our Production team in Sydney.
You don't need years of experience, but you do need to be organised, technically curious, and happy living in the world of files, formats and workflows. This role sits at the heart of the post pipeline: ingesting media, transcoding, exports, QC, mastering and delivery.
You'll be trained on the job by our Sydney team and supported by our Creative Integration Lead and other senior operators across the group.
This is a great starting point if you're keen to build a career in post production and want hands‑on exposure to real projects, real deadlines and real clients.
You will report to: Creative Integration Lead (group‑wide), working day‑to‑day with producers, editors and online artists in Sydney.
What you'll do (with training and support)
Media management
Ingest rushes from production (camera cards, drives, remote transfers)
Transcode and generate proxies for offline editorial
Organise and maintain file structures, naming conventions and metadata
Assist editors and online artists with media relinks and re‑conforms
Prep and consolidate projects for colour, sound and online finishing
Help manage archives, backups and data wrangling across servers and drives
QC, mastering and delivery
Export and master files for TVC, digital, social and cinema delivery
Perform QC checks to ensure files meet technical and creative requirements
Help troubleshoot file, codec and format issues
Manage deliveries via platforms such as Peach, CAD, Adstream, Extreme Reach, IMD, Frame.io, Vimeo and others (we'll train you)
Keep accurate version control and delivery logs
About you
This is an entry‑level role. You might be:
A recent film/TV, media, screen or IT graduate
Coming from a tech, AV, broadcast or production support background
Self‑taught with a strong interest in post workflows and media tech
You'll likely have:
Basic understanding or interest in file formats, codecs, frame rates and colour basics
Some exposure to editing or post tools (e.g. Colorfront OSD, DaVinci Resolve, Avid, Media Encoder, or similar)
Strong file organisation habits and an eye for detail
The ability to work across multiple deadlines without losing your cool
A calm, clear communication style with both creative and technical people
A genuine interest in how a professional post pipeline works end to end
You don't need to tick every box. If you're organised, switched on, and keen to learn the technical side of post, we want to hear from you.
Bonus points (nice to have, not essential)
Experience with delivery platforms (Media Shuttle, FileCatalyst, FTP, etc.)
Any exposure to Flame, Resolve, VFX pipelines or on‑set/dailies workflows
Understanding of colour pipelines or LUT management
Familiarity with audio deliverables (mix splits, stems, etc.)
We'll happily train the right person on these.
What we offer
Entry into a professional post production studio with real career pathways
On‑the‑job training across media ops, QC, delivery and broader post workflows
The opportunity to work on high‑end commercial and digital work, feature films and series
A supportive, collaborative team culture across multiple locations
Learning and development support via our internal L&D platform
Regular well‑being initiatives that change each quarter
Industry exposure through our business development and networking sessions, including our "Industry Friends" events
A social, friendly studio culture that values initiative, care and contribution
