Functional Safety Specialist Role
This is a challenging role that requires the application of functional safety principles to ensure the delivery of innovative and high-quality engineering outcomes. As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with clients, project managers, and engineering teams to embed functional safety into the design and delivery of control and safety-related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise clients across the full functional safety lifecycle, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
* Collaborate with clients and project teams to develop functional safety management plans, hazard and risk assessments, and other key deliverables.
* Support clients through functional safety assessments, audits, and validation activities.
* Facilitate client workshops, including hazard identification and risk assessment, and SIL/PLr determination studies.
* Develop and deliver customised functional safety training for clients.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
* Experience in machinery and process safety (desirable).
* Functional Safety Certification (desirable).
* Minimum 5 years' post-certification experience in a Functional Safety Engineer role.
* Strong working knowledge of industry standards, including AS IEC 61508, AS IEC 62061, ISO 13849, and AS 4024 series.
* Consultancy, client-facing, or workshop facilitation experience is highly desirable.
