Our Federal Government Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Lead to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of testing activities across multiple projects. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of automated and manual testing methodologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams working in Scrum methodology to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions and quick resolution of defects. This is a long-term contract role for 12 months with 2x12 months extension options, located at our client's Canberra site.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of manual and automation testers across multiple projects.
Define and implement test strategies, master test plans, quality gates, and defect triage processes.
Collaborate with project managers, developers, and business analysts to ensure full test coverage.
Oversee execution of functional, regression, integration, performance, and UAT testing.
Support the development and maintenance of automated test frameworks and integration into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
Track and report test progress, defect metrics, and quality KPIs to stakeholders.
Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
7+ years of Dynamics 365 CRM/.NET testing experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
Proven ability to define test strategies aligned with project goals and timelines.
Experience driving testing capability uplift across people, processes, and tools.
Hands-on experience with automation testing and CI/CD pipeline integration.
Proficiency in DevOps tools, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and QA best practices.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
Desirable Experience
Experience with EasyRepro and Mstest (C#) automation frameworks.
Previous experience working in the APS or with government grants platforms.
Familiarity with hybrid working arrangements and remote testing coordination.
Experience conducting risk assessments and contributing to go/no-go decisions for releases.
Due to security clearance requirements for this role, candidates must be Australian citizens with a Baseline security clearance.
