About the Team and the Role
The Privacy, Records and Data Governance team provides advice and guidance to SafeWork NSW staff on their management of data, information and records to ensure compliance with privacy and records management legislative obligations and standards. As Senior Advisor Data Governance you will play a crucial role in reviewing and implementing a data governance framework and implementation plan for SafeWork NSW.
Key accountabilities
* Develop and implement a comprehensive information and data governance framework and associated implementation plan for SafeWork NSW.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure data is managed responsibly, securely, and in compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
* Provide expert advice and guidance on data governance principles, standards, and best practices to align information management across the organisation.
* Monitor and assess compliance with data governance requirements, identifying risks and recommending solutions to improve data integrity and security.
* Support capability building by delivering practical assistance, tools, and training to embed consistent data management practices.
* Drive continuous improvement in data governance processes to enhance transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency

About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams and senior leadership.
* Skills to review, improve and implement information and data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures that drive improvements in information and data integrity and security.
* Current knowledge of privacy, information access and security regulations and strong skills to ensure their consistent application to information and data management across the organisation.
* Keen awareness of the latest information and data governance technologies, trends, and best practices to promote and enable continuous improvement.
