Local Laws Officer | Field Based Compliance | City of Boroondara
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Local Laws officer to join the team at City of Boroondara Council on a Casual / Temp basis.

This exciting role in our civic service directorate as a Local laws officer is there to serve a community of over 170,000 by protecting the health, safety, amenity and assets of the City of Boroondara.

What's in it for you?
* 12 weeks (Casual Agency) with strong potential for ongoing extension or permanency
* ASAP start - fortnightly pay cycles
* Monday to Friday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm whilst in training, then moving onto a rotating roster that also includes weekends. There is also potential for overtime shifts from time to time.
* $45 - $55 p/h + super
* Commuter use vehicle provided to and from work - to and from jobs! We have you covered
* Uniform provided and all tools of trade required for you to be successful in your role
* Onboarding and training on systems with a supportive team
What You\'ll Be Doing
* Engaging with residents, conducting door knocks, phone calls and representing the Council in the community by working with residents on achieving compliance for breaches of the amenity local law.
* Providing exceptional customer service inclusive of attending cases in a timely manner, contacting customers via multiple channels to keep them up to date, being clear, friendly and helpful in our delivery and delivering outcomes to our community. "Being customer first"
* Conducting detailed inspections and investigations inclusive of evidence collection, conducting interviews/statements, cautioning offenders, taking photos and detailed notes to aid in your investigation.
* Ability to Interpret and apply the Amenity Local Law and relevant legislation inclusive of the local government act.
* Enforcing non-compliance by the issuing of infringement notices and notices to comply when a resident hasn't listened to verbal education or direction
* The ability to de-escalate dissatisfied customers/residents and clearly communicate requirements with professionalism and clarity.
* Utilising required technology including customer CRM system (Oracle), Laptop and required systems, Mobile phone, PDA for investigations (Pinforce)
Essential Attributes (The \'Must-Haves\')
* Local Laws experience is essential

* Flexibility: Availability for the required hours, including potential future weekend shifts.
* Tech Savvy: Basic to intermediate computer skills to utilise our systems
* Working Rights: Must have full Australian working rights & a valid and current drivers licence
