The function of the role is to contribute to the production of quality printed newspapers and other printed materials on time with mínimal waste, as well as maintain the press and work area to a high standard.
You will be required to operate and maintain equipment pertaining to the production of the newspaper. You will operate and maintain machinery in the press, reel, and plate making areas to a standard that allows a safe, quality production, on time with a minimum amount of waste.
You will be accountable for assigned tasks that must be performed in an efficient manner and serviced in line with company procedures, whilst adding value in the further development of these processes and procedures.
Essential Requirements:
Printing Machining experience
Printing Machining trade qualifications
Exceptional problem solving skills
A strong safety focus as well as a solid focus on quality of work
Flexibility to work night shift work as required on a 7 day rotating roster
Desirable requirements:
Well-developed communication skills
Good time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload
Prior operational knowledge of a KBA Comet printing press will be highly regarded
Provide recommendations for continuous improvements
Forklift License advantageous but not essential
A team player, strong safety orientation coupled with high level customer service will ensure success in this role.
