Our Opportunity
Duties
A unique opportunity is now available in our Longwall division for a Leading Hand Fabricator. This position will involve duties including but not limited to:
* Work closely with the Workshop Manager, Supervisor, and Project Coordinators to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation.
* Maintain equipment in a fit-for-purpose state and arrange for qualified personnel to service them according to manufacturer specifications.
* Ensure suppliers and sub-contractors comply with quality and safety standards.
* Address safety issues, report incidents promptly, and participate in incident investigations.
* Fabricate components according to drawings and within specified tolerances.
* Fabricate in accordance with weld procedures, including FCAW, GMAW, and gouging.
* Complete QA documentation and maintain tooling, cutting, and welding equipment.
* Assist in training apprentices by demonstrating proper work procedures.
Leadership
* Set objectives, targets, and work standards for the team, communicate these clearly, and review regularly.
* Train, mentor, and coach team members and sub-contractors.
* Utilise fair leadership practices and adapt to team needs.
* Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
* Manage contractor performance, review, provide feedback, and address performance issues.
* Seek continuous improvement in work methods and performance.
* Maintain compliance with Work Safety, Health, Environment, and Community Management System.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
* A current Trades Certificate or equivalent qualification.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience as a leading hand.
* Working knowledge of computerised drawings.
* A valid first aid certificate.
