What you'll be doing 
The Information Management and Technology team provides application and platform management services to the Cancer Institute's supported system solutions. The team handles enhancements, incident management and resolution across all supported systems and underlying platforms. 
The Software Development Specialist guides other developers and leads in creating applications and application functions for intranet and web-based applications, enabling business outcomes through technology.

Essential Requirements 
Demonstrated ability to design complex software applications and components using appropriate modelling techniques and established design standards. Ability to communicate multiple design views to meet functional and non-functional requirements. 
Practical knowledge of application source code management using GIT, database management practices and change control processes, with knowledge of unit testing, dependency injection and code quality principles. 
Proven experience in various programming languages, including .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular or React; understanding WCAG. 
Experience managing the application lifecycle including automated builds, CI/CD and release management using Azure DevOps, on-premise and cloud hosting, with emphasis on internet security (OWASP) and system security. 
If successful for interview, candidates must bring original copies of essential qualifications to be sighted by the panel, and one copy for the panel. 
Pre-screening questions 
Question 1: Describe a recent project where you designed a complex software application or module. Include your role, tools/frameworks/languages, and how you ensured both functional and non-functional requirements were met. 
Question 2: Describe your development focus (front-end, back-end, or full-stack) with examples across the stack, including technologies, source control, CI/CD pipelines and security practices. Indicate hosting (on-premises, cloud, or both).
