NT Health has a fantastic opportunity available for a Senior Psychologist to join our Population and Primary Health Care team.
Primary objective
Working within a multidisciplinary team, deliver high quality, culturally appropriate and evidence based psychological services and clinical leadership to assist the case management of clients within the adult correctional facility.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Provide timely, clinically, and culturally appropriate evidence-based psychology services within a multidisciplinary team.
* Provide expert advice within the multidisciplinary team on program and clinical issues in the field of Psychology.
* Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship, and education to staff using evidence-based concepts and research.
* Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services, and workplaces.
* Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
* Facilitate effective service delivery through the utilisation of appropriate information systems, the maintenance of relevant statistics and ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
* Maintain commitment to ensuring contemporary knowledge and professional development through membership of appropriate organisations and committees and participate in structured professional development activities.
* Lead quality improvement activities and deliver educational programs within the prison health service.
* Co-ordinate where appropriate research activity within Northern Territory Top End Correctional Facilities.
Selection criteria
* Recognised degree in Psychology with current registration to practice as a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated broad recent postgraduate clinical experience in psychological assessment, treatment and rehabilitation methods appropriate to adults with experience providing contemporary psychological services to clients.
* Demonstrated experience providing evidence informed treatment for high prevalence psychological disorders with the ability to organise and manage a complex client caseload.
* Demonstrated experience in working effectively with clients and carers of diverse range of cultures and social backgrounds.
* Proven high-level communication and interpersonal skills, as well as well-developed negotiation and conflict management skills with significant experience working in a team environment to achieve positive health outcomes.
* Demonstrated commitment to professional development and the effective use of information systems in the clinical setting.
* Proven ability to initiate, implement and complete continuous quality improvement and service development activities.
* Endorsement in the specialty area of Clinical Psychology.
* To be a Board-approved supervisor (or eligible for) for supervising graduate students.
