About the RoleWe're seeking a driven and experienced Production Manager to lead our Somersby branch operations across safety, workshop performance, production scheduling, quality, and team development. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to make a tangible impact on operational excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Reporting to General Manager Service (East Coast) & Engineering Operation, you'll be leading an Engineering & Fabrication workshop of 4 direct reports with 15 team members in total, responsible for overseeing end‐to‐end production and branch operations. This includes managing workshop activities, driving project execution, optimising financial outcomes, and championing a safe, collaborative, and high‐performing culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou're an experienced and adaptable leader with a solid track record in manufacturing, engineering, or coal mining services. With at least five years' experience managing engineering or fabrication operations and labour workforces, you thrive in fast‐paced, deadline‐driven environments. You are technically proficient—holding trade accreditation or experience in Engineering, Mechanical, or Fabrication.
Your leadership style is hands‐on and people‐focused, with proven success in project management, resource planning, and driving performance improvements across production operations. You're commercially savvy, safety‐conscious, and committed to delivering high‐quality outcomes.
