ARA Manufacture is looking for a dedicated and passionate Industrial Designer to join their team in Queanbeyan NSW as a Product Designer.
Location: 18 Bass Street, Queanbeyan, NSW 2620
**Salary**: $100,000 + superannuation
Hours: Full Time - 38 hours per week
**Position Purpose**:
To help develop products for a growing, fast-paced area of the business to ensure that targets are met and by extension, that business goals are also met and revenue is increased.
**Key Responsibilities and Duties**:
- Design of product concepts related to BM Doors security doors and door hardware.
- Development of feasible concepts into functional prototypes and evaluation as well as testing of the products.
- Creating CAD (computer aided design) models and engineering drawings for product manufacture.
- Liaise with manufacturers (both international and local) to ensure desired outcome of products.
- Quality check of manufactured products.
- Create engineering documents for obtaining certifications from regulatory authorities for doors and door related hardware products.
- Create Bill of Materials for assemblies composing a large number of components for cost analysis etc.
- Representing the organisation's interests.
- Working with Project Managers for site specific design work required.
- Product, BCA and Australian Standard competency.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to product status.
- Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
- Analyse, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality control.
- Procurement of prototypes.
- Fulfil other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
