Our Transition to Professional Practice Program is designed to help you thrive from day one with structure, mentorship, and exciting opportunities to specialise.
As a participant, you will work closely with other health professionals in multidisciplinary teams. You will enjoy this program if you are passionate about supporting the lifestyle and choices of our clients, love a challenge, thrive in a busy environment and work effectively in a team‑based environment of care.
Program Overview
Year 1
* Enrolment in the ANMEC Transition to Professional Practice Program, fully funded by Helping Hand.
* Learn from expert ANMEC facilitators and Helping Hand Clinical Educators.
* Use a simple workbook to guide your learning, most of it is completed in class.
* Participants will be required to attend one day of paid training every three to four weeks off‑site in Port Pirie. Travel will be required to attend these training days.
Year 2
* An individualized program to focus on your clinical areas of interest and expertise.
* We'll help you explore specialised pathways tailored to your interests, whether that's further study, stepping into leadership roles like Clinical Nurse, or mastering documentation and care planning.
* Other specialist areas such as Dementia Care, Palliative Care, Infection Control, Wound Management, etc., allowing you to become a subject‑matter expert and support the residents and our teams with your expertise.
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor of Nursing qualification.
* Current AHPRA registration.
* An interest in the aged care sector.
* The ability to operate smartphones and apps (such as Microsoft Outlook).
* Valid NDIS Worker Screening clearance or willingness to obtain one.
* Hold a valid and current driver's licence; you will be required to travel to Port Pirie from your chosen site.
