About the Role This role can be based from either our Kariong or Beresfield office and we are happy to discuss flexible work arrangements. Reporting to our Principal Bushfire Consultant, you’ll play a key role in managing diverse projects across NSW, supporting public and private clients in land management, development, infrastructure, and renewable energy. You’ll be embedded in a multidisciplinary team alongside ecologists, arborists, archaeologists, and restoration specialists. Together, we design landscapes that are not only compliant but resilient, sustainable, and future-ready. What You'll Be Doing Managing and delivering projects with technical accuracy and client responsiveness. Preparing high-quality reports and plans including Bushfire Protection Assessments, Management and Evacuation Plans, Hazard Reduction and Constraint Reports. Supporting planning for subdivisions, structure plans, special fire purpose developments, and major tourism or infrastructure projects. Coordinating and auditing hazard reduction activities for high-risk sites. Contributing to forward-thinking, practical solutions to bushfire risk. Your Experience & Skills 3 years of experience as a Bushfire Consultant. Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, or Building Graduate Diploma in Bushfire Protection. In-depth knowledge of NSW bushfire planning policy, AS3959, and related RFS/local government guidance. Ability to interpret legislation, assess bushfire risks, classify vegetation, and contribute to approvals processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills, report writing excellence, and interpersonal fluency. Willingness to travel within NSW, occasionally with overnight stays. Experience with Microsoft Office and strong project organisation skills. Ability to work within a collaborative team and share technical expertise through mentoring. Bonus if you have: BPAD accreditation or are close to completing the necessary requirements. Background in environmental consulting, bushfire management, or planning. Why Join Us?
