Civil Water Construction Manager role- $150k- $200k+super+vehicle
Your new company
Opportunity for project manager to step into construction manager
Our client has grown remarkably over the last 10 years. Led by a Director who is a cracking guy, they deliver ciivl, water, sewer related projects across Melbourne, land development and infrastructure. Projects range from $100k- $3m. A turnover of around $10m, they have a business of 20 staff, close-knit and great people. A team of 2 engineers and 3 supervisors. 75% of their business is subcontracting in the land development space to principal civil contractors and developers.
Your new role
The role is to bridge the gap between office and site. Currently, the director is doing so, and the idea is for someone to take over his role. Long term allowing him to step away and let this person run the business, potentially in a GM capacity.
With 4- 5 projects running concurrently, you will add knowledge to those office based engineers both in construction and estimating, and provide knowledge on site. This role requires someone with a strong understanding of Water Mains Infrastructure projects (ideally same size valued projects) across Melbourne, know what the MRWA (Melb Retail Water Authority Standards) are & have proven experience in this field. Sewer experience is favourable also.
Working for a contractor of this size, every dollar counts- therefore overseeing, office based cost, site based delivery is essential. You will know how to build (not just delegate form an office).
Able to assist the office engineers with how to estimate, how to save and how to deliver more effectively.
What you'll need to succeed
Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful applicant will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of commercial construction projects,
You will have strong experience in;
* Managing multiple civil water projects from award through to completion
* Programming, budgeting, and cost control
* Coordinating subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
* Managing site teams and ensuring program milestones are achieved
* Overseeing quality, safety, and compliance across all projects
* Building strong internal and external stakeholder relationships
* Demonstrate similar sized projects
*Knowledge of MRWA is essential
Able to travel to projects, North, West, some SE 2 or 3 days- and able to be based in office in SE, 2 or 3 days / week
What you'll get in return
Work with a great team, a small team, but all driven and good fun- the Director is genuinely a top guy. Long term, the opportunity to become GM and run the business.
This will be a busy role, but career wise to become GM, second to none.
