Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Development Engineer to join our team on a 5-month temporary contract. The successful candidate must have at least 3+ years' experience in local government development engineering roles.
Key responsibilities will include reviewing and approving engineering construction plans for development applications, providing specialist advice on traffic and drainage matters, undertaking engineering investigations, and preparing design solutions for customer enquiries.
Responsibilities:
* Provide development approvals functions
* Liaise with internal business units, external consultants, and developers
* Determine and report on requirements for development proposals
* Provide advice and support to surveillance officers
* Review and update Councils development standards and guidelines
* Respond to enquiries in written and verbal form
* Undertake technical investigations and prepare reports
Qualifications & Experience:
* Tertiary qualification in Engineering is required
* Demonstrated experience in new development proposals assessment
* Ability to consult with stakeholders and project manage
* Well-developed written, oral, and presentation skills
