West Arnhem Regional Council invites expressions of interest for the position of Independent Chairperson of the Risk Management and Audit Committee.
Role
The RMAC provides independent advice to Council on risk, audit, financial management and internal control. The Chairperson leads committee meetings and supports effective governance processes. The appointment may be for up to four years, with remuneration and conditions based on the C1 daily rate in the Northern Territory Statutory Bodies Classification Structure.
Requirements
The Chairperson will be appointed based on professional qualities and skills and is to have at least two of the following attributes:
* Proven experience in finance or accounting (CPA or CA ANZ qualifications desirable)
* Knowledge of local government legislation
* Governance and/or industry risk management experience
