About the role
This is a first-line support role responsible for maintaining desktop systems, production robotics, and Microsoft server infrastructure. The technician will support end users, production systems, and RF technology, ensuring minimal downtime and high service levels. The role reports to the IT Lead - End User and works closely with site leadership, APAC IT, and Group IT teams.
Duties / What a day in the life is like...
- Provide first-line triage for ICT issues
- Escalate complex issues to infrastructure, applications, or vendors
- Configure laptops, desktops, printers
- Maintain antivirus, security, and software updates
- Support RF handhelds and vehicle-mounted devices
- Install and configure recent production and warehouse systems
- Maintain IT asset records and software licensing
- Coordinate local telco billing
- Support remote users and cross-site collaboration
- Participate in "Follow the Sun" support model with NZ team
Skills & Experience
- VMware vSphere 6.7+
- Windows Server 2019 and desktop OS
- Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RDS, Group Policy
- Veeam Backup (desirable)
- MES systems experience (essential)
- Networking fundamentals (Cisco/Microsoft desirable)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement
- Willingness to travel between sites
- Self-motivated and proactive problem solver
