About Us
We are family owned and operate a series of roadhouses that serve as vital hubs in remote areas of Outback QLD. Our operations include fuel, restaurant dine-in/takeaway, retail and accommodation. We pride ourselves on fantastic service, high quality food and being an integral part of the regional community who always provides a welcoming stop for the local community or anyone passing through.
The Position
Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be located in Cloncurry QLD and a key player in ensuring smooth and efficient operations across all venues. This is a hands-on assistant leadership position that requires flexibility, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, sometimes challenging, environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Oversight: Assist the General Manager in managing day-to-day running of multiple busy venues, ensuring high standards across all departments including food & beverage, accommodation, retail, and fuel services.
* Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and train a small, dedicated team, fostering a positive work culture and ensuring excellent customer service.
* Inventory & Stock Management: Oversee stock control, assist with ordering, manage deliveries, and conduct regular stocktakes and reconciliations.
* Financial Management: Handle daily cash handling procedures, manage tills, perform daily reconciliations, and assist with reporting.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, food hygiene, and licensing regulations including RSA and RSG.
* Customer Relations: Act as a primary point of contact for guests, handling inquiries and resolving issues to ensure a memorable experience for every visitor.
* Maintenance: Coordinate general maintenance and ensure the premises are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a busy hospitality, retail, or roadhouse environment is essential.
* Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage conflict effectively.
* A hands-on, flexible approach to work, with the willingness to assist in any department as required (e.g., kitchen, console operation, cleaning).
* Excellent time management and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail.
* Proficiency in cash handling, stock control software, and general computer applications.
* A valid Driver's Licence and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
* A Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and certificate and Food Safety Supervisor certification.
