Based at Eagle Farm, G. James Support Services is seeking a Product Designer to support a wide range of designs and production drawings.

The Role
Product Design & Innovation: Develop innovative, functional, and visually appealing window and door designs that align with market needs and G.James's strategic objectives.
Technical Development: Use CAD and design tools to create detailed drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications, ensuring compliance with Australian standards and performance requirements.
Engineering Integration: Apply principles of industrial design and engineering to create practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable products, optimizing for materials, production methods, and efficiency.
Prototyping & Testing: Support prototype creation, participate in performance testing (AS2047, acoustics, security, energy, etc.), and implement design improvements based on results.
Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the Product Manager, engineering team, and Product & Testing Coordinator to execute the product roadmap and maintain accurate design documentation.
The Applicant
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:
Advanced CAD skills (AutoCAD, Inventor, 3DS Max), 3D modelling, technical drawing, and strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
Understanding of technical concepts, ability to collaborate across teams, and document design decisions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to build strong internal relationships, share knowledge, support team goals, and consider the broader impact of design decisions.
Capability to handle multiple projects, prioritize effectively, solve complex design issues, and make informed, practical decisions.
