This role involves operating computer-controlled process equipment, monitoring processes and evaluating problems to ensure quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate plant equipment using learned knowledge of production methods to produce high-quality animal protein products.
* Monitor gauges related to times, pressures and temperatures.
* Manage product flow through the entire system using SCADA technology.
* Ensure all quality standards, work instructions and safety requirements are met.
* Log relevant information into log sheets at appropriate intervals.
* Sample product in accordance with established methods and procedures.
* Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
* Maintain a clean work area including proper care and storage of tools/equipment.
Requirements & Qualifications:
* Prior experience in a rendering facility with HAARSLEV processing technology is preferred.
* Reliability, physical fitness and teamwork skills are required.
* Effective communication skills are essential.
* Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in work.
* Basic computer operational skills are necessary.
* Ability to work with minimum supervision and adapt to changing environments quickly.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete simple checklists.
* Able to pass a drug and alcohol test and undergo pre-employment medical if required.
* Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting skills are essential.
* Forklift License would be highly regarded but not essential.
* Ability to deal with minor equipment problems.
* Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
