Exciting permanent opportunity for a Service Desk Specialist to join an Education Institution based in Bendigo.
**Your new role**
The Service Desk Specialist provides essential and up-to-date IT Helpdesk Level 1 and Level 2 support to Institute's staff and students. The role is responsible for assisting stakeholders to effectively utilise current Information Technology equipment and systems in their teaching, learning and administration.
**Role and responsibilities**:
- Log all requests/incidents received in the Service Desk system.
- Manage the tickets from point of assignment to point of resolution. Be accountable to follow up if escalation is involved.
- Carry out installations, configurations, and maintenance on devices.
- Support Video Conferencing units.
- Experience with System Centre Configuration Manager.
- Work with different teams to form quick reference guides for operational purposes.
- Notify affected clients of any system failures and of restoration to services as they occur.
- Deliver and configure IT equipment and standard peripherals, which involve some unassisted lifting, and carrying of moderately heavy or awkward equipment.
- Ensure allocated IT Service Requests are dealt with in a timely manner and meet Service Level Agreements.
- Be familiar with current IT security and backup procedures to minimise risk to Institute operations caused by accidental or malicious acts.
- Carry out agreed database maintenance and administration tasks to ensure the information contained is up-to-date.
- Active Directory User Management.
**What you'll need to succeed**
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field or lesser degree with extensive experience.
- Working knowledge of ICT ticketing systems.
- Understanding of SLAs.
