We value flexibility, and all roles can be performed from any capital city in a state or territory or Townsville and are available on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis.

The successful candidate will be appointed as an ongoing EL2 and may attract an additional allowance via an IFA depending on the skills and experience of the candidate. Please note that all IFAs are reviewed annually in accordance with the IFA policy and are not ongoing.

What you will do as the Executive Director in the Digital Markets Branch

* supervise EL2s and others in the branch, role modelling our leadership behaviours, supporting a professional and collaborative working environment, coaching, giving continuous feedback, manage performance, resolving conflict and facilitating career development.
* provide leadership for a team who are providing complex advice on digital platforms regulation and be accountable for the decisions of the team.
* build strong relationships with stakeholders and acting as the technical expert who can translate complex issues and distil those for a broader audience.
* assist the General Manager to provide the strategic direction in this complex and sensitive area.
* be accountable for determining the team deliverables, performance measures and outcomes.

About you

In order to succeed in the role, you will have

* extensive experience (at least 5 years) with digital platform markets or regulation in similar markets.
* proven experience with legislative development, or legal or economic analysis.
* demonstrated experience leading a team or a similar role in a fast-paced and large complex people-centred organisation.
* highly developed stakeholder management and engagement skills and experience with government processes and procedures.
* highly developed capability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally within a dynamic organisation, fostering productive relationships with funding bodies and stakeholders while effectively representing the organisation's interests.
* a strong understanding of the Australian economic reform agenda, current industry policy and regulatory landscape as well as the ACCC's broader operating environment.
* excellent project management skills including the ability to manage teams including technical experts and multiple work streams with competing priorities in time sensitive environments.
* excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to distil complex information and adapt communication to diverse audiences, ensuring technical information is accessible and actionable.
* highly developed understanding, or ability to quickly acquire an advanced understanding, of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010(Cth) and other relevant legislation, as well as a strong understanding of the roles and functions of the ACCC.
* tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field such as economics, law, commerce or public policy/regulation.

Salary: $143,411 - $168,064 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
