About the role:
Gateways After Hours On-Call Officers receive incoming calls from Gateways staff seeking support and guidance during their shifts across the various programs delivered by Gateways. This is a remote role, with participation in a rotating on-call roster. Shifts include Friday afternoon and evening (from 4:00pm), overnight on-call phone responsibility, and Saturday morning coverage until 12:30pm, including a structured handover with the incoming On-Call Officer. Overnight periods are paid for calls answered.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Administration and Support: Answer and follow up support worker calls promptly. Assist with rostering, shift changes, incident reporting, and PRN medication processes, ensuring adherence to procedures.
* Reporting and Data Collection: Record all calls with caller details and outcomes. Aid in maintaining high-quality incident reports.
* Staff Support: Ensure compliance with policies and prioritize individual needs. Engage with support staff and escalate issues when necessary.
* Working with Stakeholders: Maintain clear communication with Child Protection and emergency services. Foster transparent communication with families.
* Handover and Communication: Log calls, incident reports, and PRNs. Identify and report risks and ensure a comprehensive handover at shift's end.
* Teamwork: Collaborate within a team culture of respect and cooperation. Actively participate in meetings, supervision, and backfilling shifts as needed.

Do you possess the following qualifications and skills?
* Proven experience in providing services to individuals, including children, with complex disabilities.
* Proficiency in the NDIS Commission Behaviour Support Rules and relevant disability legislation.
* Strong knowledge of best practices in positive behaviour support.
* Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities, along with the capacity to collaborate effectively in high-demand settings.
* Exceptional communication skills, including adeptness in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, and negotiation.
* Competence in computer literacy, including electronic records and data management tools, as well as experience with staff rostering using a client database.
