The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful planning and delivery of a complex Defence project. This role will play a key part in establishing local project delivery capability, ensuring projects are executed efficiently across the full lifecycle.
The Role
You will work at the intersection of production, operations, and customer stakeholders, driving outcomes that meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
Project Planning & Delivery
* Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned to customer and contractual requirements
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
* Monitor project performance, managing risks, issues, and dependencies proactively
* Implement effective change control processes
Stakeholder Management
* Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders
* Provide clear and consistent reporting on project status, risks, and financials
* Build and maintain strong relationships with Defence, industry partners, and customers
Technical & Documentation Oversight
* Oversee the development of technical documentation, including user manuals, service documentation, and project deliverables
* Ensure all documentation aligns with contractual, regulatory, and quality standards
Governance, Compliance & Quality
* Ensure compliance with Defence, safety, environmental, quality, and legal standards
* Support audits, reviews, and reporting requirements
* Apply and uphold best‐practice project management methodologies
Experience Required
* Minimum 5 years as a Project Manager or similar within Defence Industry
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems or related discipline preferred)
* Formal Project Management certification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) highly regarded
* Background in aerospace, maritime or land-based systems desirable
* Australian Citizenship essential; Baseline clearance or above (highly desirable)
* Exposure and experience working under ASDEFCON framework
* Strong knowledge of project management tools and frameworks
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
