Position Details:
* Permanent, part-time at 64 hours per fortnight
* Educator (Major) RN35 Classification
* Location: Alfred Hospital
The Department:
The Nursing Education Department is committed to providing excellence in education for all nurses. Our goal is to support and resource Nursing Services through educational activities that support enrolled, pre-registration, registered, and postgraduate nurses to provide outstanding nursing care. We explore new approaches to education to enhance service improvement and meet organizational priorities.
The Position Summary:
The Nurse Educator is a leader and role model for professional nursing practice, promoting excellence and fostering continuous learning. They assist clinical nurses to achieve optimal patient care outcomes by identifying and responding to developmental needs through collaboration with stakeholders to establish, implement, and evaluate educational plans.
The Nurse Educator demonstrates expert clinical knowledge and excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills to support patient-centered goals and organizational objectives.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
* Holding or working towards a Master's in Nursing or Education
* Experience in an education or support role
* Extensive clinical knowledge in acute care nursing and leadership
* Understanding of nursing scope of practice and supervision/delegation
* Experience working in an interprofessional educational capacity
* Commitment to research, quality, safety, and practice application
