We are seeking a qualified and experienced Baker to join our team in Mt Barker. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who is passionate about producing high-quality baked goods in a fast-paced commercial environment.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the end-to-end preparation and production of a wide range of baked products, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency in all aspects of the baking process.
Key Responsibilities
* Preparing, mixing, kneading, proving, shaping, and baking a variety of breads, rolls, pastries, and other baked goods
* Following standard recipes while also contributing to product development and improvements
* Monitoring oven temperatures and baking times to ensure consistent product quality
* Checking the quality of raw ingredients and finished products
* Operating and maintaining baking equipment in a safe and efficient manner
* Ensuring all products meet presentation and quality standards
* Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in accordance with food safety regulations
* Managing stock levels, ordering ingredients, and minimising wastage
* Working collaboratively with team members to meet production targets
Requirements
* Certificate III in Baking or relevant qualification, or at least 2–3 years of relevant work experience
* Strong knowledge of baking techniques, dough handling, and fermentation processes
* Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and in a high-volume environment
* Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
* Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
