Job Description
Position Overview: This role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems on various types of buildings. The candidate must ensure that all roofing work is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Install slate and metal roofing systems, including shingles, tiles, and panels.
Measure and cut roofing materials to fit around vents, chimneys and other structures.
Secure roofing materials with nails, screws or adhesives.
Install roof ventilation systems and ensure proper water drainage.
Inspect roofs to identify damage or the need for repair.
Replace damaged or worn-out roofing materials.
Apply sealants and waterproofing to roofs to prevent leaks.
Perform regular maintenance to extend the life of the roof.
Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Communicate with clients to explain roofing processes, timelines and costs.
Address any questions or concerns clients may have.
Provide excellent customer service to ensure client satisfaction.
Work closely with other team members to complete projects efficiently.
Assist and mentor less experienced roofers as needed.
Report progress and any issues to the Roofing Supervisor or Project Manager.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a slate and metal roofer.
Proficiency in using roofing tools and equipment.
Strong understanding of roofing techniques and materials.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Physical fitness and the ability to work at heights.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Certification in roofing or a related field (preferred).
Experience with other roofing materials and systems.
Basic carpentry skills (preferred).
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift heavy materials and tools.
Comfortable working on roofs in various weather conditions.
Ability to stand, climb and bend for extended periods.

Pay: $78,****** – $112,****** per year.
Schedule: 8-hour shift Monday to Friday; Weekend availability.
Experience: Roofing – 4 years (Preferred).
Work Authorisation: Australia (Preferred).
Work Location: In person.
