The Opportunity
The Category Manager – Facilities Management Services role provides procurement services with a primary focus of establishing and implementing category strategies specific to the implementation/onboarding phase of any new City partner. The implementation includes, but is not limited to, leading supplier negotiations and contracting with relevant suppliers.
The role will work closely with both the wider City Procurement team and City's FM Operations stakeholders when determining the relevant category strategies. The objective of this will be to understand any short term and long‑term synergies and opportunities that may exist with any broader, existing category plans and/or supply arrangements with existing City partners.
The spend categories include a broad range of facilities managements categories including, however not limited to, HVAC services, mechanical services, electrical services, plumbing services, building services and vertical transport.
Your key responsibilities
* Development, implementation and ongoing management of the company's commercial service‑related contracts strategy.
* Manage the Contract lifecycle, including all activities relating primarily to contracts for equipment maintenance
* Analyse the Groups spend by category, supplier& business unit, identify the opportunities and deliver best practice focused on cost, quality and service level agreements.
* Effectively negotiate with suppliers and stakeholders to achieve best outcome
* Liaise with 3rd parties, contractors and key stakeholders to ensure performance standards are maintained
* Prepare scope of contract including request for tender documentation
What we are looking for
* Degree qualified in Commerce/Business,Engineering or Procurement/Supply Chain - Highly regarded
* Previous experience in Facilities Management or similar business - Highly regarded.
* Minimum 5 years proven experience of contracts management with an emphasis on equipment maintenance – Essential
* Verified written skills, including tender documentation, service level agreements, commercial contracts, analytical reports, status reports to senior management, etc. - Essential
* Proven verbal communication skills including consultation & difficult negotiation with suppliers, 3rd parties, vendors, etc. – Essential
* Attested experience in preparing scope documentation, tenders, vendor relationships and contracts management – Essential
* Demonstrated ability to prepare concise, accurate, well‑supported reports for decision‑making purposes – Essential
