St Vincents Private Melbourne is a facility of St Vincents Health Australia under the stewardship of Mary Aikenhead Ministries. We are a not‐for‐profit Catholic private hospital operating across four sites at Fitzroy, East Melbourne, Kew and Werribee.
About the Role
As an Orderly you'll play a key part in supporting hospital operations by ensuring the safe movement of patients and equipment and maintaining a clean and efficient environment within Perioperative Services.
Key Responsibilities
* Transporting and safely transferring patients between departments within the operating suite and to/from nearby hospitals
* Maintaining cleanliness in perioperative areas (floors, walls, shelving, tearooms, etc.)
* Handling and delivering equipment between departments and hospitals as required
* Managing soiled linen, biomedical and general waste in compliance with PPE protocols
* Cleaning patient care areas including recovery and theatre spaces
About You
* Certificate III Health Services Assistant
* The ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Physically fit
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Awareness of patient confidentiality and application of relevant privacy legislation
* Previous training in Manual Handling and/or safe lifting techniques
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
* Good negotiation and conflict management skills
