The Role
The Solution Architect is a senior technology leadership role responsible for shaping and guiding solution design across a wide range of initiatives. You'll apply strong architectural discipline to deliver secure, scalable, and business‐aligned technology solutions, with a particular focus on cloud, integration, and technical architecture.
You'll lead solution design for major programs while also supporting smaller initiatives and early‐stage discovery work. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to influence the future state of a modernising organisation.

Who Are We?
Teachers Health was created by teachers for teachers over 70 years ago and is the only health fund dedicated to the education community. As a not‐for‐profit health fund, we exist for our members, covering the lives of over 500,000 teachers, education staff, and their families.
What you'll do?
* Lead solution design and architectural decision‐making across major programs and smaller initiatives
* Provide architectural guidance during early discovery phases and throughout the delivery lifecycle
* Collaborate with project teams, technical teams, and fellow architects to ensure alignment and solution qualityDrive technology selection aligned to enterprise architecture, security standards, and governance requirements
* Develop conceptual, high‐level, and detailed solution designs, including prototypes and proof‐of‐concepts
* Ensure traceability from business problems through to solution design and implementation
* Support the evolution of Teachers Health's technology landscape, architecture practice, and governance frameworks
* Influence integration patterns, cloud adoption, and modernisation across the organisation
What you'll bring
* 10+ years' experience in IT with strong hands‐on technical depth
* Solid background across .NET, Azure, Civica, HAMBS, integration, and API‐driven architectures
* Experience across the full lifecycle: (design, delivery, operationalisation)
* Strong understanding of functional and non‐functional requirements, SLAs, and vendor contract reviews
* Ability to assess solution quality, compliance, and alignment with enterprise standards
* Experience working in highly regulated environments
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
* A pragmatic, self‐starting approach, someone who operates confidently without micromanagement
Highly Regarded
* TOGAF, Azure, or Salesforce certifications
* Experience in health insurance or APRA‐regulated environments
* Exposure to analytics, AI/ML, RPA, UML, DevOps, or cloud databases
* Understanding of how AI/ML can be applied in a business context (no hands‐on model building required)
