This is a Project Managers – Defence Infrastructure role with KPMG Australia based in Canberra, ACT, AU KPMG Australia Role Seniority - mid level More about the Project Managers – Defence Infrastructure role at KPMG Australia Job Description Project Managers – Defence Infrastructure Canberra Our Project and Program Delivery team offer multi-disciplinary planning, design, and delivery services, across all phases of the project lifecycle, from strategic engagements to specialist capability delivery. We offer integrated project management services, establish and operate program management offices, deliver project controls expertise, and provide planning, design, contract compliance, and assurance advice. Our approach is grounded in data-driven tools and methodologies, delivering practical and reliable project support. Your Opportunity – Managers and Senior Consultants Our Canberra team support defence, defence industries and federal government related infrastructure projects. We collaborate closely with our clients to support their strategic infrastructure investments, backed by a team with firsthand industry experience. These are new opportunities for professionals with project experiences across delivery or advisory environments. Project Managers or Project Controls professionals with experiences across: Experience in developing or managing project plans and schedules using tools like Primavera, MS Project, or similar. The ability to identify risks and cost variations and, propose corrective or mitigation strategies. An understanding of or the ability to develop and maintain project cost estimates and budgets. Confidence in preparing and analysing cost reports and forecasts, resource planning and progress reports. Developing cost control policies, procedures, and reporting standards. Coordination skills to guide stakeholders in support of schedule planning and alignment. Using quantitative data to support client project teams to make informed decisions. Performing on-site reviews to assess the strengths of key processes and controls. Contract administration and commercial management processes on projects. How are you extraordinary? You have relevant experience in providing client-side or advisory project management, project controls or delivery across defence infrastructure projects or capital-intensive industries. You have the confidence to develop, assess, and manage key project elements such as cost, risk, planning, scheduling, and budgets. You can review and support projects or programs of work, identifying and managing the project lifecycle including project procurement, approvals, and communications. You can understand and support the solution to client problems when delivering projects. You are structured in your approach to solving problems. To be considered for this opportunity, your qualifications, skills & experience could include: Previous experience in a project environment on defence or complex infrastructure programs or projects. Previous consulting and/or advisory experiences in a Project Management consultancy, Head Contractor, Construction management or within Big 4 would be beneficial. Experience working with and monitoring project schedules, costs estimates, resources, and finances systems and processes across a project lifecycle. An understanding or experience of delivery risk from an owners’ team perspective. Experience using industry planning, cost, and project management software systems. Tertiary qualifications, such as Project Management, Engineering, Membership and certification with the Australian Institute of Project Managers (AIPM), Engineers Australia or similar is encouraged. Proficiency with industry-standard estimating, planning, and project management software. Ideally Defence clearance (NV1) or the ability to obtain.
