- Undertake compliance reviews in line with reporting from the team and manager.
- Work with senior compliance officers on complex investigations relating to funding and disclosure laws at state and local elections.
- Work as part of a project team to deliver election-critical election tasks.
- Deliver, as part of a small team, an annual compliance program for political participants, including issuing infringement notices and warning letters when appropriate.
- Interpret government legislation and the ECQ's policies to ensure compliance at all levels in electoral matters.
- Communicate with political parties, elected members and third parties in relation to their compliance around funding and disclosure laws and seeking the documentation to perform an audit or review of a particular entities' compliance.
- Engage with difficult stakeholders and satisfactorily resolve disputes by noncooperative entities.
- Prepare and present verbal briefings to the Funding and Disclosure team, regarding the outcome of audits or reviews.
- Analyse data such as bank statements, ledgers, official documentation for comparison purposes with the Electronic Disclosure System. Consistently display the ECQ and Queensland Government values, and act in accordance with the Queensland public service legislative framework and Code of Conduct, ensuring that these are upheld at all levels of the organisation.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for this role, a Certificate IV in Government Investigations or equivalent, experience in a regulatory environment, performing investigations and taking enforcement action, is highly desirable.
