**THE COMPANY**
Ora Banda Mining (ASX: OBM) is a uniquely positioned gold exploration and development company as 100% owner of the Davyhurst Gold Project in the highly productive Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia. The Davyhurst project is located 120km northwest of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. The project area holds significant regional exploration potential in a District Scale land holding comprised of over 200 tenements, covering an area of 1,350km2 which contains more than 200 kilometres of strike within a highly prospective greenstone belt.
**THE ROLE**
Ora Banda has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Geologist to provide underground and technical support to the Geology Department.
This role will provide the opportunity for recent graduates and junior geologists to work alongside experienced geologists and gain experience across open pit, underground and exploration geological functions. This is a 2:1 roster.
The responsibilities of this role will include:
- Assisting with grade control drill programs, including setting out grade control drilling programs, sample bag preparation, pegging holes, liaising with grade control drillers and sample collection.
- Geological logging of RC grade control chips, including updating geology sections, plans and long sections with logging and sampling information.
- Maintaining accurate records of holes drilled, survey status, samples despatched, and supply reports as requested by the Senior Mine Geologist
- Undertaking ore block mark outs, including painting and taping of blocks, collection of bulk density samples.
- Conducting ore spotting, bench mapping, and floor level checks to reduce dilution, maximise recovery of ore and to make sure mined material is sent to the correct stockpile.
- Data entry of production data, logging and sampling data
- Field mapping and sampling programs to improve the geological understanding of the pit, including what are the controls on mineralisation.
- Provide geological assistance to other mining and exploration teams as required
- Other duties as required
**ABOUT YOU**
- Tertiary Qualification in Geology, or similar
- Current C class manual driver's license
- Previous experience as a geology technician, drillers offsider or tit technician experience (highly regarded)
- Previous experience gained through site based vacation employment / internships (highly regarded)
- A working knowledge and commitment to follow safety procedures
- Previous exposure in the use of geological software
- Certificate in Geoscience Field and/or Mining Practices will be highly regarded
- Ability to work effectively within a small team
- Good Communication skill s
- written and oral
- Experience working in open pits and around RC drill rigs (highly regarded)
- Forklift ticket (highly regarded)
- Senior First Aid will be (highly regarded)
**ELIGIBILITY**:
- Must be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance valid within 6 months
- Reside in WA or willing to relocate at own cost.
