About the role

FBO Group is seeking an experienced Accounts Administration Officer to join our fast growing team. While we are based in the Illawarra area (NSW), this is a remote working role and can be filled by the right candidate, regardless of location.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial records and accounts for multiple clients across a broad range of industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to grow their career in a flexible, supportive but highly professional environment.

What you’ll be doing

Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner

Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts on a regular basis

Prepare and issue invoices, statements, and payment reminders to clients

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and other financial records

Assist with the preparation and lodgement of BAS, IAS, and other statutory compliance obligations

Manage payroll processing, including superannuation, PAYG, and leave entitlements

Support the onboarding of new clients, including setting up accounting systems and processes

Liaise directly with clients to provide bookkeeping support, answer queries, and resolve issues

Collaborate with and oversee offshore bookkeeping staff to ensure quality and efficiency

Review work completed by offshore team members and provide feedback and guidance

Prepare periodic management reports and assist in end‑of‑month and end‑of‑year processes

Maintain accurate filing systems and ensure confidentiality of financial information

Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the continuous development of systems and workflows

Provide general administrative and financial support to the management team as required

What we’re looking for

Proven experience in an accounts administration or bookkeeping role. Minimum 3 years experience with bookkeeping

Strong numerical skills and attention to detail

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Proficiency in using accounting software, primarily Xero but also MYOB and others

Working knowledge of Australian tax and accounting regulations

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
