Overview
You will provide clinical expertise, consultancy and advanced clinical care to paediatric patients with Gastrointestinal motility conditions and complex care needs. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) leads the paediatric motility nursing service while providing direct and indirect care as required. The CNC works in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager, Nurse Educator and wider health care team to support the clinical unit in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice for the specialty of Gastrointestinal Motility.
This role will include care of patients undergoing motility procedures and investigations such as colonic manometry, antroduodenal manometry (ADM) and oesophageal manometry. This role works within the multi-disciplinary healthcare team and is pivotal in the planning, managing and delivering of paediatric motility specialist nursing care. The CNC provides clinical leadership and advanced clinical practice while participating in education and research for the motility service. Fostering a culture of collaboration within the team, we aim to optimise outcomes for children and young people with gastrointestinal motility conditions.
