**The Role**
The Administration Officer, under the direction of the Assistant Director of Governance and Assurance - Disposal Services, will be an integral part of a small coordination team and be responsible for setting work priorities and assisting in managing the workflow and resources of this team and the wider branch.
The Administration Officer is accountable for providing administrative support to the Director and Assistant Director Governance and Assurance and will contribute to strategic planning, program and project management, governance and assurance and Branch management activities.
They will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.
The duties of the Administration Officer include but not limited to the following:
- Accountable to perform difficult procedural, operational, administrative, governance and assurance business support activities, assist in managing workflow and resources, set work area priorities and team plans, detailing measurable milestones and expected outcomes.
- Work collaboratively, build and sustain effective relationships, provide advice and guidance on more complex issues.
- Engage and negotiate with stakeholders on complex issues, resolve problems and implement alternative courses of action to achieve business outcomes.
- Accountable to research, develop and implement procedural, operational, administrative governance and assurance business support documentation consistent with business requirements.
- Assist with developing and maintaining the new Branch Governance and Reporting structure.
**About our Team**
The Disposal Services Branch is responsible and accountable for the efficient and effective disposal of ex-military platforms and other operational Defence equipment, except for ICT and estate. The Branch ensures facilitation of the disposal of Defence assets and inventory through means of Government-to-Government or commercial sale, gifting or recycling in accordance with approved disposal plans.
The Branch ensures all activities are to be compliant and in line with current legislation and policy, and are conducted in a manner that ensures the ability to stand up to public and audit scrutiny and ensures the optimal net outcome for Defence and the Commonwealth.

They will have a considerable level of experience with stakeholder engagement and be able to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations in order to achieve Disposal Service and wider Defence business outcomes.
