GF PRECINCT PTY LTD is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Engineering Technologist to join our team within our gluten-free food production facility. The successful candidate will support the operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of bakery production systems and manufacturing equipment to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability. Key Responsibilities: Production System Design and Process Optimisation Optimise and improvenproduction systems, manufacturing equipment, and operational workflows within the food production facility. Analyse manufacturing and production processes to improve efficiency, scalability, productivity, and product consistency in line with operational requirements. Assist in identifying process improvements and implementing engineering solutions to support continuous operational enhancement. Monitor production system performance and recommend modifications to reduce waste, minimise process errors, and improve operational outcomes. Technical Documentation and Quality Control Prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, maintenance records, and quality assurance reports. Support quality control activities by monitoring production systems, testing equipment performance, and ensuring adherence to operational standards. Ensure all engineering and production activities comply with food safety regulations, workplace health and safety requirements, and relevant Australian standards. Assist with internal audits, compliance inspections, and corrective action processes. Equipment Support, Installation, and Troubleshooting Support the installation, commissioning, calibration, and maintenance of bakery production equipment and manufacturing systems. Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical and equipment-related issues to minimise production downtime and operational disruptions. Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and maintenance personnel regarding equipment servicing and technical support requirements. Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve reliability and efficiency. Research and Process Innovation Research and evaluate emerging food production technologies, automation systems, and engineering improvements relevant to manufacturing operations. Assist in implementing innovative engineering solutions to improve productivity, product quality, energy efficiency, and operational competitiveness. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and process development projects across the production facility. Collaboration and Training Work collaboratively with production teams, management, quality assurance personnel, and technical staff to support efficient manufacturing operations. Provide technical guidance and operational support relating to equipment use, manufacturing processes, and safety procedures. Assist in training staff on production systems, equipment operation, and workplace safety requirements. Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline such as Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar fields. Relevant industry experience in an Engineering Technologist or related engineering support role, preferably within manufacturing or food production environments. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Sound technical knowledge of engineering systems, manufacturing equipment, and production technologies. Proficiency in process analysis, systems optimisation, and technical documentation. Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across operational departments.
