You’ll grow and learn in a collaborative, safe and supportive environment and play your part in changing the course of tomorrow.Everyone at AGL is an important part of building a better energy future and we want you to join in.AGL’s Health, Safety & Environment team have an opportunity for a Health & Safety Business Partner to support the safe operation of our Gas Assets.Based in Newcastle, you will be implementing strategy, risk management and compliance across our Gas Assets (Newcastle Natural Gas Storage Facility, Somerton Power Station & Kwinana Swift Power Station).You will be a key member of the local operations leadership team, delivering key HSE programs and actively influencing behaviours and actions to support AGL’s commitment to our people and the environment.What You’ll Be DoingLead, develop, deliver, support and monitor progress of the strategic Health and Safety and hygiene programs and compliance requirementsDevelop and instill a workplace culture of best practice and positive safety and environment culture, with a focus on continuous improvement for Health & Safety.Undertake and coach operational team members in risk management and health and safty observations to reduce high risk activities and minimise risk to workers and the environmentDevelop and distribute relevant communications to inform the workforce about health & safety issues, requirement and expectationsReporting and trend identification to develop opportunities for improvement.Review audit findings across Health and Safety practices, processes and cultureAssess and manage risk, including development and maintenance of H&S risk registers, lead risk workshops, evaluation of critical controls, and associated reporting.Plan, develop, review and update policies and procedures, ensuring that legislative requirements are assessed and incorporatedSupport leaders with incident investigations and communicate lessons learntDevelop and own outage specific health and safety systems and processesEnsure full compliance with Major Hazardous Facility Licence.What You’ll BringTertiary qualification in WHS management (diploma level as a minimum)Experience in managing Major Hazard Facility Conditions.Lead auditor and/or Certificate IV in Training and AssessmentDemonstrated experience in implementing aspects of Health & Safety management systems in a complex multi-disciplined environmentAdvanced communication, interpersonal and influencing skillsExperience in promoting and leading a positive and engaged HSE culture through interactions, safety programs and assurance activitiesIncident investigation qualification and proficiencyApplications close 8 April.
