Senior Family Lawyer
This role presents a unique opportunity to join our team as a senior legal professional, providing high-quality legal services and representation to clients. You will work closely with junior lawyers, mentoring and training them to develop their skills.
About the Role
* Provide expert legal advice and representation in family law, child protection, and family violence cases
* Work as a duty lawyer in various courts, including the Magistrates Court of Victoria and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia
* Mentor and train junior lawyers to develop their skills and confidence
* Contribute to the development of legal education programs and policy projects
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Strong knowledge of family law, family violence, and child protection law
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to supervise and mentor junior legal staff
* Independent Children's Law experience is desirable
* A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory)
* Entitled to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners) (mandatory)
