We currently operate in Queensland and New South Wales, including the Hunter Valley.About the Role:Casual Qualified Locomotive Driver at our Muswellbrook depot.
The core purpose of the role is to operate locomotives and provide operational support to ensure the safe and efficient working of freight trains.In addition to the above, your key responsibilities will also include:Operate locomotives in a safe and efficient mannerCarry out shunting at yards, depots and sidings and carry out the examination of trains, including the conducting of brake and continuity testsCarry out preparation, stabling, turning, and assembling of locomotivesCarry out roll-by inspectionsCorrect and reset minor on-road faults and diagnose and liaise with specialist staff for major on-road faults and failuresOperate, in accordance with correct procedures, all communications equipment and prepare documentation associated with the operation of the trainDrive motor vehiclesAbout You:You will be part of the train crew servicing our Hunter Valley coal operations.
You will work on highly technologically advanced locomotives and rollingstock and will play a key role in the ongoing success of the operation.
This is a 24/7 operation, therefore you must be available to work various shifts on weekdays, weekends and public holidays.Skills & Qualifications:Certificate IV in Train DrivingA basic working knowledge of safe-working procedures in a railway environmentA strong commitment to following rules and operating safelyA willingness to be part of a teamA high level of concentrationQualification in Train Orders for the network (desirable)The Process:As part of One Rail Australia's recruitment and selection process, short listed applicants will be required to:Provide a recent national criminal history check.Provide a Current C Class or higher Drivers Licence.Undertake a Cat 1 Rail MedicalTo apply, please click on the 'Easy Apply' link and provide your resume and cover letter.
