Inviting applications for the role of Supplier Quality Engineer – AERO BOP (m/f)
Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
* Plan and execute a data‐ and risk‐based supplier surveillance strategy for assigned suppliers, including holistic process audits, special process audits, and product inspections to verify compliance with GE specifications and applicable technical regulations/standards.
* Establish inspection strategies (standard inspection plans and additional inspections as required), schedule surveillance and witness inspections at suppliers, and perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) as applicable.
* Ensure product compliance with contract requirements and regulatory obligations; review, validate, issue, and distribute inspection/audit reports on time with accurate updates to audit trackers and quality databases.
* Support release of material for shipment by confirming closure of supplier deviations, reviewing End of Manufacturing Reports (EoMR) where applicable, verifying absence of containment impact, and authorizing shipment when all requirements are met.
* Actively manage supplier technical deviations, non‐conformances, and field complaints in strict compliance with GE Vernova Supplier Quality QMS procedures, driving timely containment and sustainable closure.
* Lead or facilitate Root Cause Analysis/Investigation (RCA/RCI) with suppliers per business impact thresholds; define CAPA, monitor implementation, and verify effectiveness.
* Analyze customer escapes and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) to identify trends; provide concise liability assessments and support vendor recovery processes.
* Initiate and execute Supplier Quality Improvement Programs (SQIP) with top offenders and, preventively, with suppliers of critical Major Long Items (MLIs); track progress against roadmap commitments and report to stakeholders.
* Organize holistic process audits and supplier development activities; record corresponding reports in the supplier database and monitor corrective action closure to due dates.
* Support suppliers in implementing PFMEAs and DFMEAs where applicable; strengthen prevention controls and process capability.
* Support deployment of the Designated Supplier Quality Representative (DSQR) program and coach suppliers on expectations, controls, and reporting.
* Facilitate Supplier Technical Advisor site installation and/or commissioning support and drive lessons‐learned capture and dissemination back into supplier processes and ITP/QCP updates.
* Monitor and manage supplier quality KPIs via the daily management process; review dashboards, keep KPI trackers current, prevent Level‐3 threshold escalations, and avoid backlog accumulation through early interventions.
* Collaborate closely with Engineering, Sourcing/Procurement, Project Management, and Supplier Quality teams to align requirements, resolve issues, and ensure on‐time, compliant delivery.

Skills & Attributes
* Strong audit, inspection, and manufacturing process knowledge; adept with risk assessment tools (PFMEA/DFMEA), control plans, and process controls.
* Proven problem‐solving using structured methods (RCA/RCI, 8D) and effective CAPA development with measurable effectiveness checks.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and industry standards; competent in special processes and test witnessing.
* Data‐driven mindset with the ability to analyze CoPQ, escape data, and KPI trends; presents findings and recommendations effectively.
* Planning, organization, and time management to handle multi‐supplier portfolios and frequent site travel.
* Collaborative, facilitative, and culturally aware; effective in global, cross‐functional environments.
Education & Qualification & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or Quality Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline) from an accredited institution.
* 5+ years' experience in Quality, Operations/Supply Chain, or Project Management—preferably in Power Generation or heavy electrical manufacturing—with proficiency in technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
* Working knowledge of manufacturing processes for electrical equipment (e.g., LV/MV switchgear, control panels, transformers—oil & dry type, UAT, cables, electrical accessories).
* Demonstrated experience leading supplier audits, surveillance, FAT/witnessing, and shipment release processes within a formal QMS.
* Practical application of Lean/Continuous Improvement and problem‐solving toolkits; Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.
* ISO Lead Auditor (second‐party registrar or GE Vernova‐approved internal program) advantageous.
* Willingness to travel to supplier sites (up to ~70%) and flex working hours to support global stakeholders.
