Position Information

Boorowa Central School is a vibrant, inclusive educational institution located in the heart of a farming community in the Hilltops region of New South Wales, nestled within the Southwest Slopes. Situated three hours southwest of Sydney, just over an hour northeast of Canberra, and within a 30‑minute drive of both Young and Yass, Boorowa is at the center of a thriving agricultural area. The school serves approximately 255 students, with around 13% identifying as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Boorowa Central School proudly acknowledges the Ngunnawal and Wiradjuri peoples as the traditional custodians of the land, both within the school grounds and the surrounding community. Students benefit from cutting‑edge technology in every learning space and access to world‑class facilities, including a Commercial Kitchen, a Trade Training Centre, and the ‘Innovation Centre’, which is fully stocked with resources to foster hands‑on learning across a variety of subjects for students from Kindergarten through Year 12. Additional amenities include a Multi‑purpose Hall, external basketball and netball courts, and two expansive ovals. The school is staffed by a dedicated team of skilled, experienced, and passionate educators who provide high‑quality teaching across all disciplines. They are well‑supported by a team of exceptional School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) and School Administrative and Support Staff (SASS). Boorowa Central School places a strong emphasis on instructional leadership, focusing on the growth of students’ literacy and numeracy skills from K‑12. In rural and remote communities, schools play an essential role, and Boorowa Central School is committed to nurturing its strong ties with the local community. This partnership aims to develop caring, resilient young individuals who are community‑minded and dedicated to personal success.
