Business Development Manager
This role is responsible for identifying, onboarding, and launching new supplier opportunities. You will work at the centre of the Amazon flywheel, utilising data to identify selection gaps that are most important to customers across multiple categories.
You will initiate and develop strong relationships with suppliers who can provide this selection, and then account manage these suppliers to ensure a successful launch and ongoing growth.
The ideal candidate will have experience developing and growing supplier relationships with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals. While this role will be primarily external facing for new supplier recruitment, you will also be required to work with cross-functional internal teams to identify opportunities and best practices within areas such as category, customer marketing, product set-up, supply chain, and advertising to devise the right onboarding and launch plans for new suppliers.
Key responsibilities include understanding market trends across multiple categories to identify the most relevant selection for customers, owning new supplier recruitment including end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to account management post launch, owning C-suite level negotiations that enable the onboarding of new suppliers, educating new suppliers on Amazon's tools and systems to enable them to become self-sufficient in managing their catalog, inventory, and performance, achieving business and financial objectives to drive growth of Amazon's Retail business, identifying opportunities to improve the Retail business for suppliers through scalable solutions and managing the roll-out of these solutions, and working closely with category, marketing, supply, product, and other key internal stakeholders.
