Job Summary: The Electrical Superintendent oversees electrical operations, supervising and directing craft, subordinate supervisors, and others. Ensuring construction performance follows specifications and schedules is a key responsibility.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead ES&H initiatives for electrical personnel, implementing safety procedures to prevent accidents.
* Conduct site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and practices, taking corrective action to address breaches.
* Collaborate with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor to coordinate safety training and enforce safe work practices.
* Promote a ZERO Accident Philosophy within the team.
* Evaluate electrical activities to ensure compliance with Bechtel and national safety codes, standards, and regulations.
* Monitor craft productivity to guarantee adherence to specifications and schedules.
* Oversee cost, schedule, and optimization of labor and equipment, maintaining accurate records for these metrics.
* Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for recruitment, training, and other workforce management programs.
* Analyze craft time records using established tools to optimize efficiency.
* Approve subcontractor mobilization and demobilization of equipment and personnel.
* Implement corporate project policies, procedures, and instructions within assigned electrical operations.
* Develop and coordinate operational plans for the area.
* Perform brownfield work, liaising with operations to execute this task effectively.
* Communicate with operations on interface work activities.
* Provide input for quantity tracking applications and submit weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
* Prepare material requisitions for tools and consumables, coordinating procurement to obtain necessary materials.
* Assist in performing construction testing as required.
* Generate reports and forecasts, including summaries of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, and expenditure forecasts.
* Determine manpower and equipment requirements for job execution.
* Review employee performance, identifying training and development opportunities for subordinate electrical staff.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience (8 years).
* Experience on an LNG construction site.
* Background in project scheduling and directing sequence of work for multiple crews within a single area OR small- to medium-sized projects, coordinating multi-discipline craft activities.
Key Skills and Abilities:
* Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Heavy industrial construction experience, preferably in oil, gas, refinery, petrochemical, or power generation.
* Proficiency in computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
* Familiarity with industry codes and standards.
Work Requirements:
The role requires frequent field inspections, which involve extensive walking, climbing ladders, scaffolding, elevated platforms, uneven surfaces, and confined spaces. Some lifting may be necessary. Employees must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for each task.
