About the Position
Position Title: Gardener / Horticulturalist
Area of Work: Shire of Cardinia (Pakenham Depot)
Hours: Full-Time
Commencement: Immediate start

UDL Group is seeking an experienced Gardener to join our Pakenham Team working prominently in the Cardinia Shire.
This is a practical, field-based position working within a small team on various open space maintenance sites. The position offers a high level of autonomy and trust, with the flexibility to follow the maintenance schedule, supported by the guidance and mentorship of experienced senior staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain a range of equipment including mowers.
* Perform detailed horticultural tasks such as:
o Planting, watering, mulching
o Chemical spraying
o Brush-cutting, hedging, pruning
o Weeding, litter collection, and path clearing
* Submit daily service reports and site updates to management.
* Liaise with subcontractors and traffic management personnel as needed.
* Maintain high-quality control standards to prevent the need for rework.
What We're Looking For
* Proven 2 years experience in a Gardener position or similar.
* Landscape/horticulture knowledge e.g.: Plant ID.
* Certificate III or II in Horticulture (desired).
* Construction Induction Card (White/Red Card).
* Valid Victorian Driver's License (P Plate or Full License).
* ACUP (Chemical Usage Certification).
* Permanent Australian work rights.
* Competence in operating landscape machinery and tools.
* A keen eye for detail and commitment to safety and quality.
* Physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
* A positive attitude, great work standards, and easy-going personality to work as part of a growing team.
Desired Qualifications:
* Traffic Management Certificate/s
* First Aid Certificate
