About therole
The Senior Psychologist provides expert clinical care to children, adolescents andfamilies experiencing complex mental health needs.
The role leads andsupervises psychology staff and provisional psychologists, supports servicedevelopment, and collaborates with allied health, nursing, medical staff, andkey stakeholders to ensure high-quality, safe, and responsive mental healthservices.
Keyduties of the role
Deliver expert psychologicalassessment, therapy and intervention to children, adolescents and families
Provide clinical leadershipand supervision to psychology staff and registrars
Lead multidisciplinarycollaboration and consult with allied health, medical staff and externalagencies
Contribute to servicedevelopment, quality improvement and research initiatives
Ensure culturallyresponsive, evidence-based care and adherence to professional and ethicalstandards
Skillsand Experience
Must hold an appropriatedegree in Clinical or Health Psychology or equivalent qualificationrecognised by the Psychology Board of Australia
Must hold generalregistration with Psychology Board of Australia and be endorsed in theclinical or health psychology area of practice
Must hold approvedsupervisor status with the Psychology Board of Australia at all levels ofsupervision (primary and secondary).
Extensive clinicalexperience in the delivery of mental health psychology services tochildren and adolescents experiencing complex mental health concerns, withadvanced clinical experience in the delivery of a range of evidence basedclinical modalities relevant to Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
Demonstrated ability to carry out psychological assessments and therapeutic interventions of a highly complex nature with children and adolescents experiencing complexmental health concerns and their families/caregivers, using a range oftheoretical models in assessment and intervention.
Demonstrated experiencesupervising psychology staff and provisional psychologists
