Operational Supervisor (Delivery Support)

Your Opportunity

As the Operational Supervisor you will be responsible for leading and supervising employees and operational activities within the DSO function, ensuring that key performance indicators are achieved. You will build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to establish a single point of contact for the management of operational matters related to the DS function, and you will develop, maintain and review processes and procedures, incorporating feedback from a range of stakeholders and implementing best-practice approaches.

This position reports to the Delivery Support Manager. This is a permanent, full-time prospect. Two positions will be based at Cairns and Townsville; you may be required to work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to cultural change by promoting and modelling the value set: Working Together; Focussing on our Customer; Taking Responsibility; Showing Initiative; and Safety First.
- Coordinate and monitor the operational activities of the DSOs team, including allocating resources, prioritising tasks and ensuring compliance with approved processes to achieve KPIs.
- Collaborate with the DS Manager to ensure efficient operation, and the development of a high-performing team, including:
- Building knowledge and capability within the team and across the DSO unit;
- Addressing human resource management issues in accordance with procedures;
- Contributing to DS commercial and business performance objectives and KPIs; and
- Ensuring contractual timeframes and obligations for UC/Mainstream team contracts are met.
- Maintain knowledge of applicable legislation, regulations, policies and guidelines to ensure statutory compliance (including DET, pre-qualified supplier (PQS) and Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)).
- DTET Compliance Coordination with activities including Operational Oversight & Resource Allocation, Compliance and Legislative, Process Development and Review, Reporting and Data Analysis, and Issue Management.
- Partner with external stakeholders to identify business efficiencies by managing the administrative aspects of delivery and establishing a single point of contact for operational matters.
- Engage with stakeholders to develop processes ensuring information accuracy and compliance with statutory obligations, and regularly review system procedures and documentation.
- Develop and maintain networks with stakeholders regionally and across TAFE Queensland to align DS strategies with regional requirements.
- Generate and analyse business performance reports to inform strategic decisions and performance reviews, and respond to ad-hoc information requests.
- Maintain high levels of client satisfaction by timely management of complaints and providing accurate information to leadership for correspondence.
- Operate as a collaborative member of the DS leadership group, seeking opportunities to enhance relationships and drive consistency across the DS function.

How You Will Be Assessed

- Ability to manage and supervise operational activities and performance, including ongoing reviews of systems and resource allocation, and generation of reports and data analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of TAFE Queensland student management systems, legislation, policy and procedure, and the ability to provide operational guidance to achieve objectives and comply with obligations.
- Problem-solving skills to manage emergent issues and propose workable solutions for clients and the organisation.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills to develop positive partnerships with stakeholders.
- Evidence of capable, supportive leadership that fosters excellence, creativity and innovation to maximise workforce capability in a changing environment.
