The Role
As our HSSE Safety Advisor, you’ll provide expert safety guidance across all facets of our work, continuously improve our safety management systems, and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to cultivate a culture of safety excellence. This is a FIFO role working an 8:6 Roster.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on health and safety matters across personnel and projects.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits.
- Perform Verification of Competencies (VOCs) as needed.
- Deliver safety training and compliance materials, in person or via the company’s LMS.
- Develop or review safety management system documents and training resources.
- Facilitate incident investigations and reporting.
- Support alcohol and drug testing processes.
- Assist with WHS meetings and inductions.
- Deliver topical health and safety presentations online and in person.
- Guide on JHAs, risk assessments, and new procedures.
About You
We’re looking for someone with the right qualifications, industry experience, and a passion for fostering collaboration and teamwork.
You’ll ideally have
- A strong commitment to promoting safety and environmental standards.
- Qualifications as a Drug & Alcohol Screening Officer (or willingness to obtain).
- Proven ability to develop and update WHS documentation.
- Experience as a safety advisor in remote mining or industrial sites.
- Mines rescue or emergency response training (highly regarded).
- Intermediate to advanced ICT proficiency, particularly in MS Office.
- Knowledge or experience in radiation management and monitoring (desirable).
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- A proactive, high-performance approach to your role.
