South Coast Baptist College (SCBC) is seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance & Grounds Officer to join our Maintenance team.
This hands‐on role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining facilities and grounds, and can contribute to a safe and well‐maintained environment for staff, students, and the wider College community within a supportive Christian setting.
SCBC is an independent, co‐educational school that serves families in the southern metropolitan regions of Perth and beyond. The College provides inspired, innovative, and exemplary Christian education, empowering students to reach their purpose.
About the role
Working closely with the Facilities Manager, you will support the day‐to‐day upkeep of the College's buildings and grounds.
This includes undertaking general maintenance tasks, coordinating contractors, supporting compliance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and ensuring the College environment remains safe, functional, and well presented.
Key responsibilities
* Undertake general maintenance and groundskeeping tasks
* Coordinate and liaise with contractors and service providers
* Maintain safe and compliant facilities in line with WHS requirements
* Assist with the upkeep and presentation of College grounds
* Maintain records of maintenance activities and tasks
* Support minor repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
* Contribute to team tasks and broader College operational needs
About you
* Experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or a related trade (desirable)
* Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety practices
* Ability to work independently and show initiative
* Strong attention to detail and time management skills
* Good communication skills and a team‐oriented approach
* Ability to prioritise and manage competing tasks
* Competency with basic computer systems (e.g. email, Microsoft Office)
* Current Class C Driver's Licence (LR licence and/or bus driving experience desirable)
